Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician, along with motivated Apprentices, to join our dynamic electrical team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and local electrical codes. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, adhering to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) standards and NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring installations safely on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring tasks efficiently while maintaining safety procedures.
- Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components to support industrial control systems.
- Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Assist in framing carpentry tasks or handyman duties as needed during construction or renovation projects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematic updates and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure project timelines are met without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical systems.
- Apprentices must be enrolled in an approved electrical apprenticeship program with relevant coursework completed.
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical systems in construction sites or renovation environments.
- Strong knowledge of local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards, NEC regulations, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Experience with high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex control systems.
- Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of renovation processes and construction site safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
