Optometric Technician
Brook Run Vision Center is seeking dynamic individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys playing an important role in the practice. Our optometric technicians compliment the eye care that our Optometrists provide by gathering pertinent medical history from our patients and completing several ocular diagnostic tests and much more. - Knowledge of Medical and Vision insurance is a plus

Responsibilities:
- Assist our doctors in completing thorough patient work ups using various pre-testing equipment and specialty testing equipment.
- Pre-testing equipment include autorefractor, iCare tonometry, wellness screenings.
- Special testing equipment include Optos, fundus photography, OCT, Visual Fields, corneal topography, meibography and more.
- Gather thorough medical history from patients.
- Assist with contact lens insertion/removal.
- Be familiar with basic vision insurance policies.
- Schedule appointments by phone and in person.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
- Collect payments.
- Input documents and patient information into electronic medical record.
- Search various insurance websites to verify patient coverage.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organized workspace.
- Other duties as needed to keep office running smoothly and efficiently.
