General Description:
Responsible for leading the site reliability improvement strategy and the Technical Service and Reliability Engineers in the maintenance, improvement and installation of assets. The Superintendent develops, counsels and assures Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Inspection personnel are trained, competent and achieve high performance levels. Ensures site stationary equipment is “fit for service” in accordance with PSM (Process Safety Management), IVXP Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs), Site-Specific Practices, and other applicable codes, standards and regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Recruits, develops, assigns and supervises engineers and inspectors

Assumes responsibility for mechanical and I&E engineering improvements of the assets

Establishes qualifications for new hires

Assigns engineers to investigate and resolve problems

Leads team in improving asset reliability

Plans and submits annual budget

Plan and support career development for staff

Conducts performance evaluations
Implement projects to improve asset performance

Assumes responsibility for planning capital expenditures within scope

Lobbies for project funding

Forecasts asset improvements

Prioritize projects through cost/benefit analyses

Accountable for maintaining the registry of critical equipment for the site
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
