Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Air Freight Import/Export Specialist to join our North American Branch. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide accurate and competitive quotations to clients, ensuring their shipping needs are met efficiently. Additionally, the position involves managing the entire logistics process from start to finish, coordinating with importers, truckers, and carriers to ensure timely delivery, and maintaining up-to-date customer records and databases.
This role is dynamic and offers significant growth potential. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to transition into the company's Management Trainee Program, which is designed to develop future business leaders in the logistics industry. The program provides accelerated career development through a structured blend of on-the-job training and real-life work experience. Furthermore, the position may involve future rotations across different roles, providing a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination – Arrange and oversee both import and export air freight shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and handling for smooth transit.
- Documentation & Compliance – Prepare and review necessary shipping documents, including commercial invoices, airway bills, export declarations, import permits, packing lists, and certificates of origin. Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards.
- Customs Clearance & Regulations – Work with customs brokers and government agencies to facilitate the clearance of imported goods and ensure that exported shipments comply with destination country regulations. Address any compliance or documentation issues that arise.
- Freight Forwarding & Carrier Coordination – Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to schedule shipments, optimize routes, and secure cost-effective solutions for transportation.
- Cost Optimization & Rate Negotiation – Negotiate freight rates, fuel surcharges, and handling fees to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining service quality.
- Shipment Tracking & Problem Resolution – Monitor shipments in real-time, provide status updates to stakeholders, and proactively address any transit delays, customs holds, or logistical issues.
- Client & Supplier Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners to enhance operational efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics is preferred.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality results and maintaining professional excellence.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is required.

Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in air freight forwarding, logistics, or international trade.
- Strong understanding of air cargo operations, including airline regulations, cargo handling procedures, and customs compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach, ensuring seamless coordination with airlines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
- In-depth knowledge of international air carriers, shipping routes, and industry regulations.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines, especially in time-sensitive air freight operations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with air cargo requirements.
- A proactive, problem-solving, and forward-thinking mindset to manage logistics challenges efficiently.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including air cargo tracking software, freight management platforms, and office applications.
