The Project SEARCH Skills Trainer/Job Coach is responsible for providing job development and job placement services for individuals with disabilities. Client's disabilities may include developmental disability, mental health, hearing/visual impairment, traumatic brain injury and physical impairment. . This employee will travel to potential work sites throughout the Dallas Metroplex and surrounding areas in his/her own vehicle and work a flexible schedule primarily Monday – Friday days with a few evenings and occasional Saturdays for provider fairs. Provide development/placement activities that include providing job leads, assisting with job applications, creating professional resumés, talking to employer, soliciting business and industry for job opportunities accompanying individuals for job site visits and interviews, finalizing employment details, and determining job accommodations. Conduct intake/orientation interviews with clients an family members that result in timely and complete intake packets, and assess client's work history, skills, interests, and qualifications resulting in a comprehensive, individualized employment plan. Prepare, complete and submit all required reports/forms and billing by stated deadlines and in accordance with funding source standards. Ensure client files are current and meet funding source requirements. Obtain community-based competitive integrated employment for clients that match their abilities and experience to the requirements of the job resulting in meeting all benchmarks as mandated by TWC. Market services to potential referral sources, employers, and the general public and assist in the creation of marketing materials. Research potential job opportunities and build relationships with local businesses and employers through worksite visits, mining job boards, network and/or social media.
Qualifications: Must possess a minimal of 60 college credits. Must also, successfully achieve credentialing as a Job Coach and Job Placement Specialist, from the University of North Texas within 90 days of employment unless otherwise directed by management. Preference will be given to those applicants who also possess the UNTWISE Job Coaching credential. Minimum of 2 years of teaching and training experience with persons with disabilities preferred.

Working Conditions:
Hours are flexible but general work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Some weekend and evening hours may be required. Employee will work both in a climate-controlled office at the agency’s facility as well as in a variety of various local businesses and departments. Local travel is required and mileage is reimbursed.
