We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Bilingual Front Desk Technician/Medical Assistant fluent in both Spanish and English to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet and check-in patients efficiently, verifying personal information and insurance details in both Spanish and English.
- Assist with patient intake, including collecting vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
- Support clinical staff with procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support when needed.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and documentation of medical records with accuracy.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers by translating medical instructions and ensuring clear understanding in both languages.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area, clinical supplies, and medical equipment including X-ray machines when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions.
Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare setting such as dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, EMR/EHR systems, and medical documentation standards.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is necessary; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
- Familiarity with hospital experience or inpatient/outpatient procedures including trauma center environments is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
