Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, supporting construction, farming, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and tractors using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system servicing, brake repairs, transmission work, and tire service to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to address specific operational needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, air brake systems, HVAC units, and diesel engines with precision.
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and maintenance tasks while adhering to safety standards.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to accurately diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations and ensure all safety protocols are followed during equipment repair or operation activities.
Skills
- Extensive dealership experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspension systems, and diesel engines.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting using schematics and OEM manuals.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance including tire service, brake repair, alignment, HVAC systems, and power tools usage.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
