Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a nursing home environment. The Dietary Aide will assist in meal preparation, ensure cleanliness in the kitchen, and support the dietary needs of our residents. This role is essential in maintaining a high standard of nutrition and food safety for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure that all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
- Support the culinary team by performing various kitchen tasks, including food prep, cooking, and plating meals.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist with stocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to understand residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to food service and safety protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in food handling or food service is preferred, particularly within a nursing home or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a clean workspace while adhering to sanitation standards.
