Position: Special Needs Preschool Teacher
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Compensation: $16/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate, patient, and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team. Our preschool focuses on providing an enriching educational environment for children, emphasizing growth, learning, and development rather than simple childcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead lessons and activities with engaging and educational content tailored to preschool-age children.
- Work closely with students with special needs, supporting their unique learning and development goals.
- Assist children with toilet needs, including diapering.
- Prepare and serve lunch to students.
- Supervise and actively engage in outdoor play and activities.
- Participate in carpet-time activities, including circle time, reading, and group work.
- Support students with individualized work and educational goals.
- Exhibit a loving, understanding, and patient demeanor in interactions with children and families.
- Maintain physical flexibility to get down to children’s level, whether sitting on the carpet, bending, or engaging in play.
- Collaborate and grow with our team, embracing our supportive and Christian-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood (or higher)
- Experience with Special Needs preschool-aged children
- CPR/First Aid (or willing to get certified)
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or educational setting.
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is required.
- Strong patience, understanding, and a love for children are essential.
- Comfortable working in a Christian-based environment.
- Ability to prepare and assist with daily classroom activities and responsibilities.
