Milis Flatwork is seeking an experienced Concrete Foundation Foreman to lead commercial foundation work throughout Wisconsin. This position is responsible for coordinating the crew, planning daily field activities and ensuring each foundation is completed safely, accurately and according to schedule.
The right candidate understands the complete foundation process. From layout, footings and reinforcing steel through formwork, inspection and concrete placement. You will work closely with the Project Manager while taking ownership of daily jobsite operations.
What You’ll Lead
- Direct and coordinate the daily work of the concrete foundation crew.
- Review project plans, specifications and construction drawings before work begins.
- Complete or oversee foundation layout to ensure correct elevations, measurements and placement.
- Coordinate footing installation, formwork, reinforcing steel and concrete placement.
- Assign crew responsibilities based on project priorities and employee experience.
- Confirm that tools, equipment and materials are available when needed.
- Prepare the site and crew for scheduled inspections.
- Monitor workmanship throughout each phase and correct quality concerns promptly.
- Identify scheduling, material or jobsite issues and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate daily records of progress, attendance, equipment use and field conditions.
- Enforce company safety practices and maintain an organized jobsite.
- Represent Milis Flatwork’s standards and expectations when working with employees, customers and other contractors.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least five years of hands-on concrete foundation construction experience.
- Experience with foundation formwork, footings, reinforcing steel and concrete placement.
- Previous experience directing employees or leading a construction crew.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and construction drawings.
- Understanding of foundation layout, measurements and elevations.
- Knowledge of construction safety requirements and safe equipment practices.
- Ability to organize daily work, adjust to changing field conditions and solve problems.
- Clear communication skills when working with field employees and Project Managers.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability to work approximately 40–60 hours per week based on project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Concrete Foundation Foreman, Concrete Wall Foreman, Formwork Foreman or Foundation Crew Leader.
- Experience leading Bilingual crews.
- Commercial concrete construction experience.
- Experience coordinating inspections, material deliveries and equipment needs.
- Strong record of completing foundation work according to plans and schedule.
Schedule and Work Environment
- Full-time position.
- Primarily Monday through Friday.
- Hours vary based on concrete schedules, project deadlines and field conditions.
- Travel to assigned Wisconsin jobsites is required.
- Work is performed outdoors in active construction environments.
