Job Summary:
- We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the construction industry to join our team.
- The candidate will be responsible for designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, ensuring code compliance, efficiency, and constructability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and utility systems for buildings and infrastructure.
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, duct and pipe routing, and pressure drop analysis.
- Develop and review mechanical design drawings, specifications, schematics, and schedules using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM tools.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
- Review shop drawings, product submittals, and RFIs during the construction phase. Conduct site visits, inspections, and field surveys to support design and construction.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, IMC, and local regulations.
- Participate in value engineering, design reviews, and constructability reviews. Provide technical support to project managers and construction teams.
- Stay up to date with new technologies, sustainability standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech or equivalent).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification preferred.
- Minimum 3–7 years of mechanical design experience in the construction or building services industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Trace 700, or other HVAC and plumbing design software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and understanding of construction processes.
- Familiarity with LEED, green building design, and energy-efficient systems is a plus. Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $76,081.20 - $100,000.00 per year
