American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU RN for a night shift travel contract at a Critical Access, Magnet-designated hospital in Jacksonville, IL, requiring an active Illinois RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Critical Access, Magnet-designated hospital with a 4-bed ICU unit

Patient ratio of 1:2 on all shifts

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (1900–0730)

Every other weekend required
-
Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility — all travelers are expected to float

No on-call requirements

Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
-
Required cardiac monitoring skills include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure care, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and IV insulin protocol management

Required IV therapy skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs
-
Required medication management skills include continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Required respiratory skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, ventilated patient care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and ventilator management

Chronic and acute renal failure patient experience required

Additional clinical competencies include infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE use, and wound/surgical drain management

Active Illinois RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted

Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU nursing experience required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — must be active and from AHA or Red Cross (RQI AHA cards not accepted)

SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

13-week contract of approximately 36 hours per week on night shifts

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Travel pairs are not accepted — candidates must apply individually

RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests beyond 5 days require facility approval

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
