About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Title and Research Assistant to join our land team and support daily operations across two core functions: property conveyance research and skip tracing. You'll work directly for and with two managers, helping keep up with a database of over 15,000 mineral rights owners across our target areas, a number that continues to grow steadily over time.
Your main focus will be assisting with accounts that are missing owner information and reviewing or approving uploaded conveyance records from our areas of interest.
What You'll Do
- Review property conveyance records including deeds, donations, successions, affidavits of heirship, and other instruments that affect ownership transfer
- Trace chains of title and identify how interest in a property has moved between parties over time
- Conduct skip tracing on outdated accounts, locating current phone numbers, mailing addresses, family members, and verifying whether account holders are deceased
- Research and update records in Salesforce CRM on a daily basis, working through a list of flagged accounts that need attention or new information
What We're Looking For
- Familiarity with courthouse records and the conveyance process
- Understanding of basic property ownership concepts such as fractional interests, royalty interests, and how ownership splits across heirs or grantees
- Experience with skip tracing tools or public records research is a strong plus
- Salesforce experience is helpful but not required. We'll train the right person
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently through a daily research queue
