Groundskeeper
HOURS OF WORK: 7:00am to 4:30pm, M-Th.
PAY: $15.00 / hour
OVERVIEW: This position primarily performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of properties and grounds. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities, which are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.
· Performs all groundskeeper duties, including general grounds maintenance and upkeep. Keeps JCHA grounds free of trash and debris. Shows working knowledge of the methods, tools, and materials used in building maintenance, repair, and grounds keeping.
· Demonstrates knowledge of chemicals, safety protocols and ensures proper handling and storage practices are followed. Follows proper lifting and loading heavy objects when required.
· Performs duties under the Preventive Maintenance Program, including documenting capital needs related to grounds, sidewalks, streets, and parking areas. Schedules and completes required cleaning, maintenance, and repairs for exterior buildings, playgrounds, dumpsters, signposts, and JCHA-owned equipment.
· Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the company vehicle. Ensures safe driving practices, proper fueling, routine inspections, wearing a seatbelt as required and reporting of any mechanical issues or damages. Maintains required documentation, needed for inspection records, and ensures the vehicle is stocked with necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for daily assignments. Performs other related duties as necessary.
