American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring at least 1 year of NICU experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and NRP/STABLE certifications.

Hospital NICU setting caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
-
Patient diagnoses include abdominal wall defects, HIE, RDS, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, TEF, duodenal atresia, diaphragmatic hernia, urethral stenosis, myelomeningocele, and ROP
-
Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Option to work 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30) with no call, or 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30) with a minimum of one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly

Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on unit need
-
Floating may be required to other NICU units or facilities; float assignments are limited to qualified areas where competencies have been demonstrated
-
Special procedures include full body cooling, chest tube management, tracheostomy management, surgical repair of non-cardiac anomalies, and Avastin administration/laser eye surgery

Special equipment includes Arctic Sun, Blanketrol, Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Alaris, Philips Central, B. Braun and Infinity feeding pumps, Atom and GE Dual Incubators, Draeger Caleos, radiant warmers, external shunts, and ostomy supplies

Documentation system: Epic EMR

Medication system: Pyxis/Omnicell

Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and STABLE

Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
-
Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Required skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC management, central line care and blood draw, neonatal dosage calculations, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), bubble CPAP, HFNC, high frequency ventilation, ventilator management, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and ostomy/colostomy management

Must reside more than 100 miles from all Prisma Health facilities to be eligible for this travel position

Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials, prior to the start of the assignment

Orientation is held every Monday

Modules are completed annually and recorded in transcripts by the facility
