Job Summary
We are a small, community-oriented Preschool seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional Teacher Assistant to join our educational team. In this role, you will support classroom teachers in a Pre-K setting while engaging with instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for new learners. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help ensure every student receives the personalized support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. We follow a creative curriculum, and prioritize student safety and growth in a nurturing environment. The hours will be Monday - Friday from roughly 8:00am-4:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with implementing lesson plans across curriculum.
- Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and improve social growth.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques aligned with educational compliance standards.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outside play, lunch, nap time, and any transitions to ensure safety and positive engagement.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavioral updates.
- Collaborate with all SLC staff to ensure smooth communication throughout the school year.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, parents, and all other staff.
- Ability to supervise children safely while demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required, and will be provided upon hire if needed.
- Experience working in an educational or childcare setting is desirable.

Pay: $19.50 - $24.00 per hour
