Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safe work practices at all times
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain mill machinery and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Complete welding and fabrication work as required
- Carry out carpentry and mechanical repair tasks where needed
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings
- Dismantle, move, align, assemble, and install machinery and equipment
- Work on conveyors, motors, chains, valves, belts, cylinders, and related systems
- Construct and prepare machine foundations
- Lubricate and service equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Continue developing knowledge of mill technology and equipment
- Support additional maintenance projects as assigned
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance, millwright, or related mechanical positions
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and work order systems
- Proven troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance manuals, operating instructions, and blueprints
- Willingness to join and remain in good standing with the applicable union
- Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana (THC), due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role
