The Forklift Operator/Laborer operates the forklift as required in the yard. Load/unload various customer or JPC trucks. Move materials in the precast area. Perform tasks involving physical labor at the precast plant. Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Other Essential Duties include:
- Ensure equipment is in good operating condition
- Grease and Check Fluids
- Communicate with Mechanics of any problems with equipment
- Follow VOSHA Regulations
- Ability to be proactive to prevent mechanical failures
- Communicate with subordinates, dispatcher, equipment operators and public
- Keep proper equipment reports i.e. maintenance
- Duties as required in material fabrication
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy precast projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces
- Material handling and storage, including cutting pieces
- Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials using various hand and powered lifting machines
Requirements:
- Understanding of forklift operation and maintenance with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with heavy equipment operations.
- Forklift certification within 90 days of hire
