POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing total resident care while also managing the unit's general operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an approved nursing school.
- Currently registered to practice nursing in Maryland.
- At least 6 months of experience as a Registered Nurse is desirable.
- Previous experience with geriatric residents is desirable.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day nursing activities.
- Participate in developing and updating written policies and procedures.
- Abide by standards and practices as set forth in the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Personnel Management:
- Assign duties to Geriatric Nursing Assistants, and update assignment sheets.
- Participate in employee performance evaluations.
- Give and receive shift reports. Monitor care over a 24-hour period through 24-hour report and shift reports.
Nursing:
- Admit and orient new residents.
- Attend care conferences; work with interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care within 14 days of admission. Update the care plan quarterly and as residents’ needs or conditions change.
- Order medications, requisition supplies and equipment.
- Take and transcribe physicians’ orders to cardexes, diet lists, OT, PT schedules, etc. Send diet orders to dietary. Check monthly orders and MARs/TARs for accuracy.
- Accompany physicians on rounds. Assist with examinations and treatments.
- Discharge and transfer residents.
