We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning correctly according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral and extraoral images, adhering to dental x-ray safety standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical documentation systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Support patient management by providing education on oral health care, explaining treatment plans, and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration in accordance with local regulations.
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, preferably with expertise in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
- Familiarity with dental equipment operation, including 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and medical imaging technology.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection prevention management.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting general dentistry and specialized procedures like oral surgery or endodontics.
- Experience with medical coding and patient management software is advantageous but not mandatory.
