Sleep Technician (Polysomnographic Technician / RPSGT)

- Schedule: Full-time, Part-time, or Per Diem | Night Shift: 7:30 PM – 5:30 AM
- Pay Structure: Tied strictly to credentials and experience
- Trainee: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
- Licensed/Certified Technician: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
- RPSGT / RRT: $28.00 – $36.00 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Sleep Technician to join our clinical team. In this role, you will perform overnight sleep studies (polysomnography), assist with patient care, and play a vital role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.
We welcome applications from experienced RPSGT/RRT professionals, licensed technicians, and recent graduates of a polysomnography program who need to accumulate their required clinical hours for licensure.
Responsibilities
- Testing & Monitoring: Perform comprehensive overnight sleep studies (PSG, Split-Night, Titration) and monitor patients to ensure airway stability and safety.
- Patient Care: Fit patients with PAP/CPAP/BiPAP masks, assist with therapy setup, and provide clear patient education regarding the testing process.
- Data Collection: Collect, evaluate, and document respiratory and sleep data in accordance with clinic and AASM guidelines.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate clinical documentation, strictly adhering to patient safety, privacy (HIPAA), and infection control standards.
- Equipment Care: Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and prepare sleep study equipment for nightly use.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Credentials: RPSGT, RRT (must have sleep lab experience), or state-equivalent Sleep Technician license strongly preferred.
- Trainee Applicants: Must have successfully graduated from an accredited Polysomnographic Technology program and require clinical hours to obtain licensure/certification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, a comforting bedside manner, and basic proficiency with computers and sleep diagnostic software.
Physical Demands & Working Environment
- Shift Work: Ability to work overnight shifts consistently (7:30 PM – 5:30 AM).
- Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching during patient hookups and equipment setup.
- Screen Time: Ability to sit and monitor computer screens attentively for extended periods during the night.
Pay: $22.00 - $36.00 per hour
