We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating web offset printing presses and a strong understanding of printing processes.
- Set up and operate printing presses to meet job specifications and achieve high-quality printed materials.
- Handle the loading and unloading of paper and ink as required for each job.
- Maintain detailed records of daily production activities.
- Monitor press operations closely to ensure print quality, adjusting as necessary.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of presses to optimize performance and prevent downtime.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the printing process.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and uphold a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide training and guidance to press helpers as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals and meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production runs and materials usage for record-keeping purposes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Knowledge of printing processes, including offset and digital printing.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production schedules.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
- Understanding of printing processes and equipment operation.
- Proven experience as a web offset press operator in a printing environment.
- Requiring full free use of hands and arms, finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Pushes or pulls hand trucks, moves, handles objects weighing up to 1400 pounds and lifts to 40 pounds.
- Duties also require considerable walking, standing, and stooping.
- This is a full-time position with opportunities for overtime as needed.
- Shift work may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
