Position Overview
The Mold Setter is responsible for performing mold changeovers, preparing injection molding machines for production, and ensuring setups are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. Working closely with production, process technicians, and maintenance, you'll help maximise uptime while maintaining quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mold changes in accordance with the daily production schedule
- Prepare injection molding machines for production by completing accurate mold setups
- Verify machine setups before releasing equipment to production
- Troubleshoot basic molding, tooling, and setup issues to minimise downtime
- Assist with the installation of new molds and production tooling
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds and assist with minor equipment maintenance as required
- Ensure molds, tooling, and work areas are clean, organised, and maintained to company standards
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards throughout the setup process
- Communicate any equipment, tooling, or production issues to supervisors and maintenance personnel
Qualifications
- 3+ years of injection molding or mold setting experience
- Strong knowledge of mold setup, changeovers, and injection molding equipment
- Experience troubleshooting setup and tooling issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Forklift and overhead crane experience (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach
