The A Plus Group, LLC is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team in Durham County at the Stanford L. Warren Library and Durham County Animal Control Center. Responsibilities
- Clean and restock restrooms (supplies, trash removal, wiping and disinfecting surfaces, sweeping/mopping).
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the library.
- Wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces (door handles, counters, light switches, tables).
- Spot clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and partitions.
- Sweep, dust, and spot mop floors in public and staff areas.
- Maintain order in meeting rooms and study areas (straighten chairs/tables, empty trash).
- Keep breakroom and staff areas clean and stocked with supplies.
- Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies (spills, tracked-in dirt, etc.).
- Notify supervisor of supply needs or maintenance issues.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing methods.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness in diverse environments.
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality results.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting or moving items.
