Description
We are looking for a licensed cosmetologist to wash, cut and set our residents hair on a weekly basis. You will need to love and interact well with the elderly and be sensitive to their needs especially the residents with dementia. You have the opportunity work on more than one resident at a time enabling you to be more efficient with your time management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of hair care, perms, hair color, how to wash and set using rollers and hair dryers and it would be a plus if the candidate could perform manicures and pedicures as well. Upon hire before receiving the contract you must pass a FBI/DOJ fingerprint background clearance. The ideal is to have someone who has excellent customer service skills and loves the elderly and is dependable and reliable, so this can be a long-term contract.
Lavender Hills Assisted Living LLC has 2 houses situated together that each have their own separate salon. You will not be required to pay salon fees. Each house gets their hair done on a certain day and then you may schedule additional services as time allows. Lavender Hills pays $25.00 per resident per week but additional income is earned in tips and can be earned in doing perms, hair color, pedicures and manicures. Lavender Hills can hold up to 54 residents but can be full at 45 residents although we may not always be full and every resident may not want or get their hair done. Hair days are currently Thursday in House 3 and Fridays in House 2, and then you may schedule additional services to your liking. Also, during the holidays or any special events you may need to come in the day of said event and comb out everyone's hair so they all look presentable.
Responsibilities
- Converse with residents and make them feel comfortable
- Perform their hair care to the residents and their families’ specifications
- Cut, wash and set hair and do scalp treatments if needed with doctor's orders
- Be able to provide Perms, Manicure & Pedicures for additional costs
- Apply and sell cosmetics and other beauty products
- Bill Residents’ Families for additional services rendered
- Keep salons neat and clean
- Comply with all Licensing regulations with Community Care Licensing including keeping products locked when you are not present
- Comply with health and safety standards and State of California Cosmetology Regulations
Skills & Requirements
- · Proven experience and a current cosmetologist license from State of California
- · A City of Redding Business License
- · Liability Insurance
- · Working knowledge of all aspects of cosmetology and best practices
- · Clean FBI/DOJ Background Clearance
- · Great physical stamina
- · Excellent communication and people skills
- · High school diploma; successful attendance of a cosmetology school is a must

Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month
