What We Offer:
Novant Health Elizabeth Pediatrics is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant!
Work Schedule: Four days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 1–2 Saturdays per month from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.
Join our pediatric clinic in a hands-on, direct patient care role where you’ll support children and families in a compassionate, fast-paced environment. In this position, you’ll work closely with providers to ensure a positive experience for young patients, from rooming and obtaining vitals to assisting with in-office procedures.
The role of the CMA is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.

Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
Job responsibilities include:

Room patients by taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing them for provider evaluation.

Assist providers during exams by documenting information and supporting patient care.

Support in-office procedures with setup, sterile technique, and patient assistance.

Administer vaccines and perform laboratory specimen collection and basic testing.

Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms while ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.
