The Roofing Product Control Examiner reviews and examines product design plans, specifications, application manuals, and test reports submitted by manufacturers to determine compliance with the Florida Building Code for roofing products and assemblies. This position examines products and assemblies for architectural integrity as detailed and required by the Florida Building Code and other applicable standards and regulations. Additionally, this role determines the structural adequacy and ratings of roofing products by means of verifying physical properties testing and procedures for stress, load, deflection, and like factors for issuance of the Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA). Incumbents in this role also develop criteria, order laboratory and field test reports and other documents necessary for the processing of alternate methods of construction.
