**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our Newburg R-II team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors. This role requires a strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and a passion for cleanliness and maintenance.
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and buffing floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the facility, including offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners.
- Use specialized cleaning equipment, such as industrial cleaning machines, and follow manufacturer instructions.
- Assist with porter duties, including moving furniture, transporting equipment, and supporting events.
- Conduct residential painting as needed to maintain the appearance of the facility.
- Collaborate with facilities maintenance staff to ensure prompt resolution of maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning and maintenance activities.
**Requirements:**
- Experience in custodial or facilities maintenance is preferred, but not required.
- An understanding of cleaning and maintenance procedures, including floor care and cleaning methods.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to work at heights (e.g., ladders, scaffolding).
- Familiarity with safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Basic knowledge of painting and finishing techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Proven experience in porter and custodial roles, with a focus on commercial and industrial cleaning.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance and the ability to assist with maintenance tasks as needed.
- Experience with residential painting and finishing techniques.
- A strong commitment to cleanliness and maintenance, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.25 - $15.91 per hour
