Job Summary
Looking for Class A CDL drivers who also has a TWIC card and no driving accident in the past 5 years. The position is an opportunity to start with a growing company and take it to the next level. Driver will be picking up one container from the port of charleston and delivering it regionally. The driver will be home every night.
Duties
- Manage the loading and unloading of freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Navigate assigned routes effectively while maintaining adherence to traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs for hours driven, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during routes.
Skills
- Strong background in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class.
- Familiarity with route driving and delivery driver experience is essential.
- Ability to handle freight efficiently, including load and unload operations.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to truck driving and freight transportation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
