As an Employment Advisor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to job seekers, assisting them in their journey to secure meaningful employment opportunities. Through in-person visit, phone calls, and email correspondence, you will assess clients' employment needs, strengths, skills, interests, career goals, and areas for development. You will provide advice, guidance on resume writing and interview preparation, guidance on navigating the jobsnd.com website and on filing unemployment insurance claim (if needed), Labor Market Information, directing to training opportunities, services, and other resources, ultimately helping clients achieve success in the job market. You will also provide administrative service support including, but not limited to, data entry and processing incoming/outgoing mail.
This position reports directly to the Workforce Center Manager within the Wahpeton Workforce Center.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience/education combination:

a high school diploma or equivalent

at least four (4) years of related work experience
Related college-level course work may be substituted for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

You must be customer service driven, a strong communicator, comfortable working in Microsoft Products to include Word, Excel and Outlook, eager to lend a helping hand and working one-on-one with clients, find enjoyment in problem-solving to meet individual needs, and providing comprehensive employment support.
Prior experience in teaching, career counseling, human resources, or a related field is beneficial but we welcome anyone who can demonstrate relevant experience and/or education, is self-motivated, and finds reward in helping others succeed to apply.

Scoring Process:
Our hiring process is designed to be fair, transparent, and focused on your qualifications. Applications will be scored based on a 100-point candidate questionnaire. Final scores determine which qualified applicants advance to the interview stage.
