Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history and mental status examinations, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including psychopharmacology interventions, ensuring safe and effective use.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services tailored to individual needs, incorporating evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, discharge planning, and case management for complex cases.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to extend mental health services to remote or underserved populations.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies to promote ongoing wellness.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations across outpatient, inpatient, or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology principles, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for documentation and clinical workflows.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physiological evaluations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality and medical records security.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred; additional certifications in behavioral health or substance use treatment are a plus. Pay: $100,059.51 - $120,501.77 per year
