Valley Oaks Health provides comprehensive, high-quality mental health, addiction recovery, and primary medical care services based on the needs of the people we serve. We’re committed to providing compassionate, person-centered integrated care that helps individuals and communities thrive.
We are looking for an experienced Director of Compliance, Privacy & Accreditation to provide strategic leadership across our organization’s compliance, privacy, accreditation, and regulatory readiness efforts. This leadership role serves as a trusted advisor to organizational leadership and is ideal for someone who can translate complex healthcare regulations into practical solutions, anticipate risk, and build systems that keep an integrated healthcare organization continuously prepared—not just ready when survey time arrives.
What You'll Do
- Lead Valley Oaks Health’s Corporate Compliance Program, including annual planning, risk assessments, investigations, monitoring, corrective actions, and reporting.
- Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer, overseeing HIPAA and privacy compliance, incident investigations, policies, and collaboration with IT on cybersecurity and information governance.
- Lead organizational readiness for accreditation, certification, licensing, and regulatory surveys, including Joint Commission, HRSA, CCBHC, DMHA, CMS, Medicaid, and other applicable oversight organizations.
- Monitor evolving healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and funding requirements, helping leaders understand and proactively respond to changes.
- Oversee internal compliance audits, risk monitoring, corrective action plans, and efforts to strengthen organizational controls.
- Provide leadership and oversight of Health Information Management (HIM) through the HIM Manager, including documentation governance, medical record compliance, release of information, and record retention.
- Guide enterprise policy development and governance while partnering with leaders across the organization on new programs, services, and operational initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, law, health information management, or a related field; Master’s degree or JD preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, or HIM, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, HITECH, privacy requirements, accreditation standards, and HIM best practices.
- Experience leading Joint Commission, HRSA, FQHC, CCBHC, CMHC, or similar healthcare accreditation and regulatory surveys, enterprise compliance programs within integrated healthcare organizations, or Health Information Management functions is highly valued.
- Professional certification such as CHC, CHPC, CHPS, RHIA, RHIT, or similar is preferred.
At Valley Oaks Health, strong compliance is more than checking boxes—it helps us protect the people we serve, support our teams, and provide high-quality care with integrity. If you are a collaborative leader who can build strong partnerships across the organization while helping us stay prepared for what’s ahead, we want to hear from you!.
