Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Interventional Radiology Technician, where you will play a vital role in delivering advanced imaging services to support minimally invasive procedures. Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray, fluoroscopy, DEXA scan, and digital motion devices to facilitate diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures such as biopsies, catheter placements, embolizations, and other minimally invasive treatments.
- Implement radiation safety protocols rigorously to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure while maintaining compliance with all safety standards.
- Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and monitoring vital signs throughout imaging processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed, imaging results, and equipment maintenance logs in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure all medical imaging equipment is operated correctly and maintained properly; troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize procedure delays.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control standards during all procedures to uphold a sterile environment.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an Interventional Radiology Technician or in a similar radiologic imaging role within a hospital or clinical setting.
- Hands-on expertise with a variety of radiologic modalities including X-ray, ultrasound (sonography), DEXA scans, fluoroscopy, and interventional radiography techniques.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to accurately position patients and interpret imaging results effectively.
- Experience working in urgent care settings or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable for handling emergency situations efficiently.
- Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection measures during diagnostic evaluations.
- Ability to operate advanced medical imaging equipment safely while maintaining high standards of patient care and technical precision.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology related to radiology and interventional procedures for clear communication with medical teams.
