About the Role:
A Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers’ fleet of vehicles. Our technicians support the team by diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that powertrains are functioning efficiently, in emission compliance, and safely. Technicians will use their growing vehicle knowledge to troubleshoot and repair different powertrains and vehicle subsystems, relying on developing mechanical and electrical skills for efficient problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Fundamental heavy-duty vehicle knowledge and experience.

Experience or training in engine, air, brake, and transmission system diagnostics and repair.

Curiosity and understanding of “how things work.”

Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment, including basic computer systems and software.

Ability to follow written instructions, fault trees, wiring diagrams, and theories of operation.

Applicable engine and system accreditations are preferred but not required.

Attention to detail, time management skills, and willingness to learn and support problem-solving.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for service checks.
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in transportation technology and electrical systems.

Experience working within the transportation industry or similar commercial environments.

Familiarity with parts management systems (CDK).
-
Additional certifications in Cummins engines.

Strong communication skills for effective report writing and customer interaction.
Responsibilities:
-
Collaborate with team members and management to prioritize service requests and optimize workflow.
-
Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Diagnose Customer concerns with electronic and engine diagnosis tools under guidance when needed.

Complete timely and efficient maintenance and repairs based upon diagnostic findings.

Apply working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines.

Troubleshoot and repair other vehicle systems such as brakes/air, steering, transmission, and suspension.

Leverage diagnostic tools, electrical drawings, and fault tree diagrams to properly diagnose Customer complaints.

Assist with installation of supplemental equipment on new vehicles when required.

Communicate effectively with other team members to address concerns and provide regular updates on repair progress.

Participate in internal technical discussions, case studies, and team learning activities.

Communicate issues to internal and external support teams as needed.

Stay updated on industry advancements and trends in powertrain technology through ongoing training and professional development.
