Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and current medications using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Document medical histories, obtain blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and other necessary vital signs.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures as needed - imaging and lower extremity vein ablations.
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including ICD coding, medical records updates, and detailed notes in EMR/EHR systems.
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals while maintaining organized patient files.
- Provide post-procedure / after-care instructions for patients who have undergone vein ablations / treatment.
- Answer / make phone calls as needed.
Skills
- Some pre-existing knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and ICD coding standards is a plus.
- Prior experience in medical office or administrative support within a busy healthcare environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with medical procedures and vital signs collection is a plus.
- Ability to provide excellent patient service while maintaining professionalism under pressure in a busy clinic setting.
- Ability to adapt quickly to high-acuity situations.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate between patients and healthcare teams effectively.
