Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Waterjet Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating computer-controlled waterjet cutting equipment to produce precision parts according to established specifications.
In this hands-on role, you will load materials, work with computerized machining files, monitor equipment, inspect finished components, and perform basic finishing tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with both computers and machinery and has the attention to detail needed to consistently produce parts within tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open, review, and adjust machining files within computer systems as needed.
- Send programs to machine controllers for production.
- Set up and operate waterjet cutting equipment.
- Load rubber sheets and other raw materials into machines.
- Monitor equipment throughout the cutting process to ensure proper operation.
- Safely load and unload materials from production equipment.
- Maintain an efficient and organized production workflow.
- Use digital calipers to inspect and measure finished components.
- Maintain required tolerances within .002".
- Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
- Deburr and finish part edges according to quality requirements.
- Identify and communicate equipment or quality concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, and production guidelines.
- Assist with additional production responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Comfortable working with computers and machine interfaces.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to read measurements and use precision measuring tools such as digital calipers.
- Ability to consistently work within tight tolerances.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Waterjet or CNC machine experience is a plus.
- Previous experience working with precision measurement tools preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements.
- Regular loading, unloading, and handling of production materials.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing approximately 20–50 pounds.
- Repetitive production tasks requiring consistent focus and attention to detail.
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to safely work around computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
