Overview
Oasis is a resident-exclusive health club in Midtown West, committed to maintaining a clean, welcoming, and professional atmosphere for all members. Oasis is seeking a warm, energetic, and creative Children’s Enrichment Instructor to develop and lead engaging classes for children and their caregivers at a residential health club on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Our members are especially interested in programming for toddlers and preschoolers ages 1–4. The ideal candidate can create a fun, structured class combining music, movement, creative play, and age-appropriate activities.
Programming may include:
- Music and movement
- Singing, rhythm, and beginner dance activities
- Arts and crafts
- Sensory play
- Storytime
- Seasonal projects and special events
This is an excellent opportunity for an early childhood educator, children’s activity instructor, teaching artist, music and movement instructor, preschool teacher, or experienced childcare professional who enjoys creating joyful, community-focused programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate enrichment classes
- Create a welcoming experience for children and accompanying caregivers
- Prepare simple lesson plans and activity materials
- Lead classes with warmth, confidence, and positive energy
- Adapt activities to different ages and developmental stages
- Set up and clean the program space before and after each class
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive environment
- Communicate reliably with management regarding scheduling and supply needs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children
- Confident leading groups of children and adults
- Creative, dependable, organized, and engaging
- Strong communication and classroom-management skills
- Ability to independently plan developmentally appropriate activities
- Early childhood education, music, movement, art, or enrichment experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Schedule
We are currently developing the program schedule based on member demand. Priority availability includes:
- Weekdays between approximately 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- Weekend mornings, particularly around 9:00 a.m.
- Availability to teach a consistent weekly class is strongly preferred
This is a part-time position beginning with one or more recurring classes per week, with the potential for additional classes and special events as the program grows.
