We are seeking a skilled and motivated Level II Diesel Engine Technician to join our power generation service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning diesel-powered generator systems and related equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, and standby or prime power generation equipment, along with a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of power generation systems supporting critical facilities, industrial operations, construction sites, healthcare facilities, and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel-powered generators and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, fuel, cooling, exhaust, electrical, and control system issues.
- Conduct load bank testing and operational performance evaluations.
- Inspect, repair, and replace engines, alternators, controllers, transfer switches, batteries, and related components.
- Utilize diagnostic software, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation to complete repairs.
- Perform start-up, commissioning, and operational verification of generator systems.
- Accurately document service activities, findings, parts usage, and labor hours.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all company and OSHA safety standards.
- Provide professional and timely customer support in the field.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response service as required.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a diesel technician, power generation technician, heavy equipment technician, or related field.
- Working knowledge of diesel engine operation and repair.
- Ability to diagnose electrical systems including AC/DC circuits, charging systems, and control circuits.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing generators from manufacturers such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU, or Volvo Penta.
- Generator control experience with systems such as Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward, or PowerCommand.
- Vocational or technical school training in diesel technology, electrical systems, or power generation.
- OEM certifications or factory training.

Physical Requirements:------------------
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and occasionally work extended hours during emergency service calls.
