Position Title: Banquet Cook

Reports To: Executive Chef or Sous Chef
Status: Part-Time
Position Summary
The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food for banquets, weddings, golf outings, corporate events, and other special functions. This position assists with food production, maintains high quality and presentation standards, and ensures timely preparation of meals for members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and food items according to established recipes and banquet event orders.
- Cook and plate banquet menu items while maintaining quality and consistency standards.
- Assist with setup and preparation for weddings, golf outings, member events, and special functions.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner to meet event schedules.
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Follow all health department regulations and food safety standards.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Assist with kitchen preparation and a la carte service when needed.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen and banquet staff to ensure successful event execution.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, banquet, hotel, catering, or country club environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and food presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot kitchen conditions and walk-in coolers.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Flexible schedule based on banquet and event needs.
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
