Must be 21 years of age or older.
Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment and maintaining a high level of professionalism with our guests and team members.
- Flexible with working various shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours if applicable. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
- Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Responsible for being gracious to all guests and co-workers. Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards. Complies with Indiana Horse Racing Commission Regulations, approved internal controls, as well as company policies.
- Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.
- Must be able to regularly push/pull or lift up to 25 pounds and frequently push/pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and use hands to fingers to handle or feel, reach with hand and arms, talk or hear and taste and smell.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission. Will require access to the racing facility.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There may be exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke, dust, loud noises, bright lights, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold.
