As a Senior Electrical Engineer or Project Manager, you'll lead the planning, design, coordination, and execution of electrical engineering projects from concept through construction, with a primary focus on higher education and state/public sector facilities. Working alongside architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll manage projects, strengthen client relationships, mentor engineers, and help deliver innovative engineering solutions that positively impact the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and client communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Design and coordinate electrical building systems, including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Emergency power systems
- Low-voltage systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, technology, structural, and architectural teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Review engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and project meetings.
- Mentor engineers, designers, and BIM professionals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with higher education, state, and institutional clients while supporting business development and proposal efforts.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Six or more years of electrical engineering experience within the AEC consulting industry.
- Experience leading projects or managing client relationships is preferred.
- Experienced Project Managers are encouraged to apply, as are Senior Electrical Engineers ready to grow into project leadership.
- Experience designing electrical systems for higher education, state/public, institutional, commercial, or healthcare facilities is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of the NEC, energy codes, and applicable industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
