Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using manual or machine methods in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and efficiently to maintain a clean dining area.
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and effectively while adhering to all kitchen health and safety standards.
- Handle heavy lifting of large pots, trays, or bulk supplies while practicing proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning dishwashing stations and ensuring all kitchen surfaces meet hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during busy service hours and assist in food handling when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or commercial cleaning tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting the culinary team.
- Basic knife skills or experience with food preparation can be advantageous but are not required.
