- Develops programs and processes to perform routine maintenance on all equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Identifies processes, methods and programs to maintain equipment at the lowest possible cost and minimal downtime.
- Ensures that maintenance work orders are completed timely, cost-effectively and according to priority as established by company guidelines.
- Works closely with operations, dispatch, and quality to ensure proper priorities on work orders.
- Maintains an optimum level of spare parts inventory balancing availability with cost, obsolescence and shrinkage factors.
- Performs necessary tests on new equipment to ensure it will function as expected.
- Ensures compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
- Manages maintenance employees to ensure they are productive, properly trained and utilized efficiently.
- Engineer safety into all projects and proactively contribute to the plant goal of zero accidents.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with the FDA, OSHA, EPA, LEPC, local Fire and Police Departments, Health Department, and Weights and Measures.
- Ensures emergency work orders or equipment malfunctions that slow or stop production are addressed immediately in a cost effective manner.
- Works closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers to identify, analyze and solve equipment needs and issues.
- Coordinates the disposal or sale of obsolete or discarded equipment.
- Coordinates and manages maintenance activities for plant equipment, property and facilities company-wide.
- Visits plant sites to audit and observe property, plant and equipment.
- Coordinates the bidding and selection process for new equipment purchases to ensure lowest possible total cost consistent with the lowest total maintenance cost while yielding the greatest reliability.
- Assists with plant layout and design as needed.
- Develops annual capital improvement budget based on input and observation.
- Manages approved capital improvements within established budget and timeline guidelines.
- Maintain key reports due to management weekly and monthly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma required. Prefer additional training or education in engineering, electronics or mechanical curriculum.
- Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a high-capacity production environment with at least two years of supervisory experience. Batch plant experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with equipment selection, purchase and disposal.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and equipment schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and oral.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Demonstrated proficiency with basic math to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize and to work independently.
- Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with basic computer applications
- Knowledgeable of Concrete fundamentals

- Positive attitude toward employees, management, customers, & vendors
- Excellent work ethic – punctuality, accuracy, and attendance
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish)

- Frequent periods of standing and walking on wet, dry, even and uneven surfaces.
