Position Summary
Vend Central is hiring a dependable, flexible Part-Time Delivery Driver to provide reliable route coverage and make customer deliveries as business needs require. The regular schedule is expected to be primarily Mondays and Tuesdays, with the opportunity for additional on-call or relief hours based on driver absences, route volume, capacity, and demand. Weekly hours beyond the regular schedule are not guaranteed.
The ideal candidate holds a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and has experience operating a 26-foot box truck. Vend Central will also consider a dependable delivery driver with a valid Class C driver's license who can safely complete assigned deliveries using a company conversion or cargo van.
Pay & Employment Status
· $20.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience
· Part-time, hourly, non-exempt position
· Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable law when applicable
· Hours are based on operational demand and are not guaranteed beyond the expected regular schedule
· No other benefits are offered at this time
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate the company vehicle assigned for the route, which may include a 26-foot box truck for MDOT-qualified drivers or a conversion/cargo van for Class C drivers.
· Load, secure, transport, unload, and deliver snack, beverage, and foodservice products to customer locations.
· Verify order accuracy before departure and again with the customer or receiver at delivery.
· Obtain signatures and complete invoices, delivery paperwork, handheld entries, and route documentation accurately.
· Clearly document shortages, damages, returns, credits, refused items, and customer concerns.
· Maintain professional, friendly service and represent Vend Central positively at every customer location.
· Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections for the assigned vehicle and immediately report safety or maintenance concerns.
· Keep the assigned vehicle clean, organized, fueled, and ready for service.
· Follow route instructions, delivery procedures, traffic laws, company safety standards, and applicable DOT requirements.
· Assist with loading, staging, pallet returns, product pickups, and other warehouse or route-related work as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Driver Qualification PathsPreferred: Box-Truck / MDOT Driver
· Valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record.
· Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) and ability to meet Maryland DOT driver requirements.
· Previous experience safely operating a 26-foot box truck or similar commercial delivery vehicle.
· Experience loading, unloading, securing loads, and using a manual or electric pallet jack.
Also Considered: Conversion/Cargo Van Driver
· Valid Class C driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record.
· Previous delivery, route, courier, merchandising, warehouse, or customer-service experience preferred.
· Ability and willingness to safely operate a company conversion or cargo van and complete assigned deliveries.
· Must remain within the vehicle, route, and load limitations assigned by Vend Central.
Requirements for All Candidates
· At least three years of licensed driving experience.
· Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background and drug screening processes.
· Prior experience safely operating an electric pallet jack preferred.
· Strong attendance, reliability, punctuality, and responsiveness for scheduled or accepted on-call shifts.
· Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, follow route instructions, and stay organized.
· Professional attitude and strong customer-service and communication skills.
· Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance.
· Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the assigned vehicle and frequently stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull.
· Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other seasonal weather.
Schedule
· Expected regular workdays: Mondays and Tuesdays.
· Typical hours are approximately 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, though start and end times may vary by route and business needs.
· Additional relief, on-call, or other weekday hours may be offered based on driver absences, capacity, route volume, and demand.
· The employee may accept additional offered shifts, but hours outside the expected regular schedule are not guaranteed.
· Drivers are expected to complete their assigned route, paperwork, vehicle responsibilities, and any required closeout duties before leaving.

· Arrives on time and ready to work for every scheduled or accepted shift.
· Completes deliveries safely, accurately, professionally, and with minimal supervision.
· Communicates route issues, delays, discrepancies, and vehicle concerns promptly.
· Treats customers and teammates respectfully and steps in where needed to support the operation.
