Principle Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of EMC, Environmental and/or Safety Compliance Testing
- Document all test data thoroughly and accurately (i.e., dates, pass/fail criteria, final results, etc...)
- Work from schematics, wiring/assembly drawings, engineering cutsheets, and approved test plans
- Handle and configure clients' product hardware/testing assemblies
- Take detailed photographs and document test configurations
- Assist clients in analyzing the potential cause of non-conformities/failures
- Perform regular and/or periodic equipment calibrations, using strict technical procedures
- Complete assigned training, and maintain a working knowledge of WLL testing procedures
- Maintain an orderly work area; perform additional duties as assigned
- Read and work from wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Collaborate with Engineers and other technicians to identify and solve technical problems
- Stay current with developments in technology and industry standards
- Use computers/laptops daily
Company Overview
We are a testing and certification laboratory for electronic devices. We perform wireless device testing for FCC and ISED approvals, regulatory approvals for wide variety of complex systems, and full environmental exposure testing. We test to commercial, consumer, defense, aerospace, communications, sensing, radio propagation, medical IoT and related disciplines. We work with fixed, mobile and portable electronic devices for a variety of environments. In addition, we are supplementing our testing and certification activities with Cyber-security offerings (new for 2026) for device manufacturers. Most importantly, WLL is family owned and operated. We have been in business since 1989 and our headquarters is in Frederick, Maryland.
We are seeking to hire a recent technical/engineering graduate (with a 2-year certification or associate degree -- a bachelor’s degree is not required) to fill a full-time Engineering Technician position. Starting salary is $50k-65k annual. Please note - this is an Entry Level position.
Qualifying Requirements:
- do you live within 1-hour of Frederick, MD? (we know commuting is rough, and most people learn quickly that it’s not fun).
- can you lift 40 lbs, unassisted? (this role does require the movement of heavy equipment)
- can you stand for 30-minutes at a time? (this role may require standing for extended periods)
- do you have a driver’s license? (this role may require driving from site to site in a rental vehicle)
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
