<Job Overview>
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated BHS (Behavioral Health Services) Clinician to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality mental health, substance abuse, and behavioral services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will support individuals with a wide range of mental health and substance abuse challenges, including trauma, developmental disabilities, addiction, and chronic pain. <Duties>
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support patients experiencing acute mental health crises or behavioral emergencies.
- Deliver specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; accurately record patient interactions in medical records using appropriate medical terminology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans; participate in clinical research efforts to improve service delivery.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to expand access to behavioral health services for diverse populations across various settings.
<Requirements>
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification relevant to clinical counseling (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LSAA, LADAC, LMSW, LMHC).
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems.
- Experience with crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and medical records documentation; understanding of HIPAA compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus.
