Job description
This is not a custodian type, handy man or jack of all trades maintenance position.
We are looking for an experience Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to maintain industrial equipment and improve the condition of our facilities. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as repairing manufacturing equipment, electrical, hydraulic repair, equipment layout, etc. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to ensure we minimize any down time on the production line and maintain and improve the buildings and common areas.
Responsibilities
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Candidate must be neat and organized and a self starter
- MUST have experience repairing heavy equipment
- Prefer experience with CNC, hydraulic presses, lumber or timber machinery
- Repair equipment and perform preventative maintenance in a way the doesn’t impact the production floor
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and fixtures, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in the maintenance of vacuum system and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform facility repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- Ability to work off hours or off shifts as necessary to comply with preventative maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent; building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
- MUST have equipment maintenance experience, not just facility upkeep
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
