Position Overview
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machining and fabrication equipment while overseeing the day-to-day function of the shop. This is a fully hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, independence, and responsibility for shop operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating CNC machining equipment in a custom manufacturing environment, with the ability to prioritize work, maintain shop organization, and support efficient production.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage daily shop activities and workflow
- Set up CNC machining equipment used for stainless-steel fabrication
- Operate equipment including CNC plasma cutting tables, 3-Axis CNC Mill, 100 Ton Brake Press, Hydraulic Roll Bender, Ironworker and Drill Press.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabricate parts to specification
- Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and finish requirements
- Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and production adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot machining and fabrication issues to minimize downtime
- Plan and prioritize work to meet project timelines
- Maintain shop organization, tooling, and equipment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on machining and fabrication experience
- Strong experience operating and setting up CNC machining equipment, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment
- Experience with CNC cutting technologies such as plasma, mills, routers and similar equipment
- Proven experience working with 304 and 316 stainless steel
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabricate parts independently
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or managing a small fabrication or machine shop
- Experience with CNC programming or editing programs
- Background in custom, low-volume, or prototype manufacturing
- General fabrication and assembly experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $30 – $40 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
