7NT Engineering is a leader in Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing fields. We are a highly specialized geotechnical firm heavily involved in the design and construction of deep tunnels. These tunnels are used as massive storage facilities in the water and wastewater treatment industries as well as transportation conduits through mountains and under streams.
7NT has professional and technical staff members specializing in complex drilling, laboratory services, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, environmental services, surveying, construction management/inspection (QA), materials testing, manhole rehab, and sewer repair. Due to the highly specialized nature of our services, 7NT personnel are invited to work on complex projects nationwide.
Position:
We are looking for full-time Construction Materials Testing Technicians to assist our Jeffersonville, IN office to perform testing of concrete, soils, steel, asphalt, and a variety of other materials on construction projects in either the Louisville area or the Cincinnati/Dayton area.
· Performs field inspections and laboratory testing
· Responsible for field compaction testing, sampling and observation of soils, aggregate and asphalt utilizing nuclear density gauges
· Perform concrete, grout, and masonry QC tests via sampling and visual observations, testing for slump, air content, unit weight, and temperature as well as casting cylinders for determining compressive strengths.
· Daily communication with site leadership to ensure testing requirements and client needs are met.
· Complete accurate and detailed inspection and testing reports
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
· ACI Field technician I
· Basic computer skills to document inspection reports
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to adapt to changing construction schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
· More than one year of CMT experience
· OSHA 10
· Nuclear Density Gauge Certification
· ICC Reinforced Concrete
· ICC Soils
· ICC Structural Masonry
· ICC Structural Steel and Bolting
· ICC Structural Welding
· AWS/CWI
Physical Requirements for the Role:
The position requires employees to work in potentially dangerous surroundings, sometimes in inclement weather conditions including rain, heat, and cold. They must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
