Maintenance Associate
The Maintenance Associate position is responsible for general maintenance and repairs to facilities and equipment, safety systems, electrical systems, basic carpentry, HVAC systems, grounds, and other processes that support Bonclarken's vision: to provide a place of inspiration and renewal for our guests.
Essential Functions
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain facilities at Bonclarken, including but not limited to guest rooms, dining room, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and grounds.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, and perform scheduled maintenance repairs.
- Perform handyman tasks and responsibilities.
- Perform skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and repair of all buildings and equipment on the grounds of Bonclarken.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on grounds, equipment, and facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical maintenance, and carpentry functions.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties.
- Detect faulty operations and defective materials, and report them to proper supervision, as well as any unusual situations.
- Comply with OSHA safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. • Embody a friendly and positive attitude with a “hands-on” approach in working with the entire Bonclarken staff and volunteers to meet the needs of our guests.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $21.00 per hour and is based on experience.

Work Environment
The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration while performing the duties of this job. The noise level in the work environment and job sites may be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, and may include some after-hours and weekend work as needed to meet our guests' needs. Pay will be based on experience.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience. Valid driver’s license.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
A Successful candidate:
May be required to take and pass a physical.
Must be legally eligible to work in North Carolina.
Must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check.
